The Place to Be

ABI is pleased to announce the return of the Annual Spring Meeting — this year in a cutting-edge virtual format. Employing the same innovative platform that made last fall’s Insolvency 2020 event such an astounding success, this conference — always one of the most significant annual gatherings of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals in the country — will introduce a number of new and improved online networking features. These will allow attendees to connect in intimate group settings or — perhaps just as important — one-on-one with fellow participants.

Your next big deal or career-boosting connection could be just a click away!

ASM 2021 features:

  • A state-of-the-industry presentation by some of the country’s leading bankruptcy analysts.
  • The Consumer Bankruptcy Reform Act vs. the ABI Consumer Commission’s recommendations.
  • A closer look at the regulatory side of health care bankruptcies.
  • An overview of the Small Business Reorganization Act, and what we’ve learned at the one-year mark.
  • An evidence and trial skills session in a mock-court setting.
  • A spotlight on insolvent or near-insolvent hotel debtors.
  • A frank examination of how to handle debtors and creditors with severe mental health issues, such as dementia or drug/alcohol abuse.

This relaxing session will introduce you to the beautiful world of watercolor. During this workshop, the host will guide everyone to create a unique cherry tree blossom painting and a poppy blossom painting. Murder Mystery Night: Murder in La La Land

April 15, 7:00-9:00 P.M. EST

PICTURE IT! The year: 1951. The Place: La La Land. Here, the pervasiveness of the motion picture industry is the only thing that matters to anybody who's somebody. You’re a company member at Summit Pictures, one of La La's major film studios, but after clocking out on this day, no one is going home! One of your very own, a talented screenwriter, made a big splash, name in lights and all that jazz — until last night's disaster began to rock an already fickle, fragile and feeble foundation. Come meet the iconic characters you think you know while getting an insider's peek behind the facade. Become a key player as you experience a tragically hilarious story probing the highs, the lows, and the in-betweens of SHOWBIZ! This event is free, but space is limited.

Virtual Cheese-Tasting with Truckle Cheesemongers

April 15, 7:00-8:30 P.M. EST

Back by popular demand, ABI’s favorite cheesemonger, Maggie from Truckle Cheesemongers in Richmond, Va., will make you a cheese connoisseur during this interactive event! The presentation starts with cheese basics, then shows you how to taste and buy. Add in the essentials of wine-and-cheeseboard pairings, and this is sure to be a fun evening with colleagues. The fee for this event is $20 per person, which includes your cheese box mailed to you in advance. Register by April 5 to join this event.

We share our finds with enthusiasts across the U.S. — exclusive, small-production, bespoke wines that are not generally available through the normal distribution system. The fee for this exclusive event is $250 per person, which includes the wines shipped to you in advance. Register by April 8 to join this event.
